Our Rules

Boat Launch Rules

BEAR POINT CIVIC ASSOCIATION BOAT LAUNCH RULES
THIS IS A PRIVATE BOAT LAUNCH FOR MEMBERS ONLY
All BPCA Members with Boat Launch Access are expected to abide by all rules below.  Failure to comply with these rules may result in your access being denied with NO REFUND of your boat launch dues.

GENERAL RULES
  • DO NOT attempt to remove your RFID tag from your tow vehicle.  This will damage the tag and a replacement WILL NOT be provided.  Replacement RFID tags for newly purchased tow vehicles are available for $10.00.
  • Tow Vehicles and watercraft must be registered to the property owner or family/associate member.
  • NO overnight parking or storage of your boat and trailer at the boat launch without prior approval from a Board member is allowed.  BPCA is not responsible for theft or damage to your vehicle/trailer.
  • Vehicles without trailers (except those hauling kayaks and other small watercraft) will be towed out of the parking area at the owner’s expense.
  • BPCA is not responsible for damage to your vehicle, boat or trailer.
  • Memberships expire on December 31st of each year.
  • Damage to the entry gate, whether intentional or not, will be the responsibility of the member causing any damage to the gate or actuators.

RFID TAGS/DECALS
  • Vehicles used to tow boat/watercraft trailers must have a BPCA issued RFID tag and the member must be in good, current standing with all dues.
  • Boat/watercraft trailers must have a current decal affixed to an easily visible area on the tow vehicle driver’s side of the trailer.  Trailers WITHOUT current decals are in violation and will be towed and the owner’s expense.
  • Starting April 1, 2020, YELLOW decals with black text will designate property owners which allows for parking in the boat launch parking area.   Family/Associate Memberships will receive GREEN decals and are not allowed to park in the boat launch parking area.

ACCESS/EXITING AND PARKING
  • When launching your boat, DO NOT BACK IN from the street.  This is a safety and security issue and the position of the RFID tag will not be seen by the tag reader, so you will not be able to access the launch by backing in.
  • DO NOT allow “tailgating” (allowing someone to closely follow you in) of unauthorized vehicles.  Cameras are monitoring access.  Members allowing other vehicles to “tailgate” for entry will put their membership/access at risk.
  • DO NOT park in designated NO PARKING areas within the boat launch area. Vehicles will be towed from these areas at the owner’s expense.

Park & Beach Rules

We invite all of our members to enjoy the park and property of the BPCA, but we do ask that you help us keep the park clean and maintain the property. Members are responsible for their pets, their guests, and helping monitor the property.  If you observe abuse of the property, please contact your Board Representatives and/or the Orange Beach Police Department for leash law violations.

  • Do not destroy the protected sand dunes by digging or throwing debris into the dune.  It will take some time for these dunes to permanently establish in this area, so please help maintain it.
  • Do not leave debris behind after you visit the beach.  Leave Only Footprints.
  • NO GLASS in the park/beach area.  Broken glass can severely injure other members/guests.  Those with glass containers will be asked to leave the area.
  • NO PETS on the beach area and NO UNLEASHED PETS in the park in general.  While many pet owners like to enjoy the pleasure of their pets along the beach, pets may accidentally defecate/urinate on the new, white sandy beach.  NO ONE wants to walk in or lay out near where your pet pooped/ or peed regardless of whether it was picked up or not.   Members with pets on the sandy shore will be asked to leave the area.
  • For pets in the park area behind the beach, please keep them leashed and use the pet waste bags to clean up after your pet.
  • NO CARTS on the sandy beach area, the ramp to the pier or on the pier.  Respect the new beach area and help us maintain it by not destroying it with cart traffic.
